Array of Color

On a day that's been mostly wet..and mostly grey - I couldn't help but be drawn to the unexpected color.

It was just over the bend..and around the corner. It was - where I'm sure it's been for years and years and years before. Funny that as many times as I'd walked this path - I'd never noticed.

A rainbow - of sorts.

A jaw-dropping..eye-catching array.

I wondered how it is I was going to capture the sight with my camera's lens. How it was that I might frame it in a way that others might see what I could.

Sure did make me smile and laugh aloud -  to find something new...when I was certain there was nothing.

Never say never.

If you seek...you shall find.

Don't think..just do. The prize is always in the process.

This is fabulous and so true . You can find the colours and shapes out there in the most unexpected places! We need the people who perceive this! Thank you...

Marcie, Your recent posts have been addressing the "creative valley" I have been experiencing of late and providing me with inspiration and motivation. The prize truly is in the process. Thanks for nudging me to seek and find.

What vibrant color! You give good advice - I feel as if I'm running out of ideas in my immediate neighborhood when it comes to taking photos. I need to go at it with fresh eyes, I think.

Isn't that the amazing thing about photography? The ability to give you gifts like these - to see something old and it becomes new. To find surprises around familiar corners. (I am reading "The Practice of Contemplative Photography" - this image is the very definition of the first "color" exercise. Thanks for the inspiration!)

This reminds me of all those times I walked back-n-forth to school, Marcie, and then in shock saw something for the very first time that had been there all along! I know that feeling. But I don't recall it ever being this colorful!

Marcie - you are truly a kindred spirit! This is beautiful! My mom, my greatest life teacher, had inscribed in one of the many books she gave me: "I discovered a whole low octave on the flute last week. I was thrilled. It's good to be capable of being surprised and thrilled. Love to you. ArtistaMama" She was also a Seeker of Magic....and a teacher of magic. Thank you again for sharing your spirit and soul.

I love your vivid "rainbow," Marcie. My curiosity wants to know what it is, but my heart says it's enough just that it is.

I couldn't agree with your comments more. Just like flowers in the garden, colour seems to come to life on those grey days when we expect it least. A great shot Marcie.
