About Me:

Some might call me a ‘Renaissance Woman’..a someone whose interests are broad and far-reaching. An architect by profession and training. A photographer. A writer. A yogini. A daughter...a mother...a sister...a wife...a friend.
I prefer to think of myself as a ‘Jill-of-all-Trades’…a someone who wears many different interchangeable hats – sometimes all at once and often at the same time.
A lover of all things beautiful. A seeker of truth. A collector of life’s little details. A one who believes in the power and strength in ‘practice’.
It is from there that I hope to share what I discover along my way.

About my Photography Practice:
For years I walked the same path...always in a hurry to get to wherever it was I thought I might be going. There was always somewhere I needed to be..someone I needed to see....something I needed to do. So focused on the destination, I was missing out on the journey.
With that, I picked up my camera and began what quickly became a daily exercise in recording the world as I view it through my camera lens. The ‘practice’, as I have come to know it, is about finding the new and extraordinary in the everyday ordinary. It is about nurturing presence and awareness..and recording what 'is'. It is not necessarily about perfection. It is a reminder that there is hidden magic in the smallest details..the quietest moments...in the pause and silence..in the in between.
Stop. Breathe. Look and see.
My photographs act as a visual journal..reminding me of my life's story. Day by day.
The majority of my images are captured within a healthy walking distance of my home here in Newton, Massachusetts, a suburban community just west of Boston. By stopping motion and evoking emotion, I hope to draw others into the world that I experience and see. My most successful images, I believe, are those that carry a magical and somewhat abstract quality, ones in which the viewer might get lost.
Trained as an architect, I have spent much of my porfessional career focusing on the details of the built environment. By simply moving a wall, adding a window, shifting things ever so slightly, I have observed people change the ways in which they experience their world.
Similarly, my photography borrows from that training, and utilizes the same sense of spatial awareness, balance and composition. I take that same attention to visual details, and apply it to a particular moment in time. By adjusting and shifting my camera lens, I have discovered the power of changing my point-of-view, and consequently - how I internally experience and process my daily life.
My photography acts as a meditation. It grounds and centers and challenges me. It reminds me, everyday, that there is beauty and peace and love.

About my Architectural Practice:
For the past 25+ years I have worked out of my home office in Newton, Massachusetts specializing in small-scale residential renovations and additions. I am a believer in ‘less-is-more’..and that with careful, thoughtful design, we can all live quite comfortably and well within smaller spaces. My aim and strength is in providing contextual custom design solutions for each and every project. I like to work with my clients individually, carefully guiding them through the process from schematic/conceptual design through construction documents and project completion, meeting both their programmatic and budgetary needs. I assist with all design details – including kitchen cabinets, counters and appliance selections and any/all interior finishes.
