Array of Color

On a day that's been mostly wet..and mostly grey - I couldn't help but be drawn to the unexpected color.

It was just over the bend..and around the corner. It was - where I'm sure it's been for years and years and years before. Funny that as many times as I'd walked this path - I'd never noticed.

A rainbow - of sorts.

A jaw-dropping..eye-catching array.

I wondered how it is I was going to capture the sight with my camera's lens. How it was that I might frame it in a way that others might see what I could.

Sure did make me smile and laugh aloud -  to find something new...when I was certain there was nothing.

Never say never.

If you seek...you shall find.

Don't think..just do. The prize is always in the process.

What It Is

Some days - it's about the art of making art...of creating art..of transforming the ordinary into something that is not.

It's about taking the big picture and breaking it down into something smaller. It's about looking and seeing what is as it is..and then looking at it once again and seeing it differently. It's about exercising the imagination. It's about thinking outside of the box in which 'it' - whatever 'it' is - was placed.

A stage set?
A star-studded sky?
A bicycle repair shop?

A dream?
A story?
A child's floating fantasy...made real?

What is it? What could it be? I'm not telling. What do you believe..what do you think..what do you imagine - when you look and see?

Morning Practice

I thought I was dreaming. I thought - I imagined. I thought - it could never be.

The hundreds and thousands - gathered together..in the morning light. They began with themselves. Feet rooted into the ground beneath. Arms outstretched to the sky above. There was laughter. There was light. There was breath.

I watched as they bowed deeply. I watched as they reached to meet and greet the morning sun. I watched as they twisted and turned themselves upside down. I watched as they moved. Each - to its own individual rhythm and rhyme..and yet all at once and together - at exactly same time.

I thought I was dreaming..but  - really - I was awake.

There before me - their day had begun - like every other...before it and all others that were yet to come.

With practice.
